NATIONAL SUPPORT FOR BOLLYWOOD STRIKE!!!

Film and TV producers from Mumbai may not be able to even exercise the option of working outside Mumbai as the Apex body of all six major Film Federation Workers AIFEC has declared unconditional support for the strike. In a major show of support for the FWICE, the AIFEC core committee in its emergency meeting passed a resolution supporting the strike call by the Fwice and declared that their members would support the strike in any and every way possible.
The AIFEC Gen. Secretary Shri B. Unnikrishnan, the renowned director from the Malayalam industry, stated that he had gone through the basic charter of demanded of the Fwice and was surprised and shocked that the producers had problems with signing it. He said " It seems that they (the producers ) are focussed on their own profits without caring at all for the health and welfare of their workers" While lauding the initiative of the Fwice the AIFEC President Shri G. Shiva (Fefsi) said that demands like no work beyond a 12 hour shift, 2 nd Sunday as compulsory holiday, demands for basic safety, sanitation and security to ensure dignity of women at the workplace cannot even be debated"
The Fwice President Shri Kamlesh Pandey was very vehement in stating that the attitude and dealings of most producers showed scant respect for human rights and labour laws. Due to there being no guidelines for functioning they have been taking the workers for a ride. Shri Amit Behl (Sr. Vice President Fwice) stated that the situation has reached a boil where the artistes, workers & technicians did not want to take any more. People were collapsing on the sets and being hospitalised. Governmental labour laws were thrown out of the window to just show more profits.
With the hardening of stands of both the sides, the battle lines are drawn and it remains to be seen what the future holds in store for all concerned.

San Francisco Global Movie Fest raises Rs. 5 million on Crowdera

The Federation of Indian Associations (FIA) in California has partnered with upcoming Silicon Valley based crowd-funding platform Crowdera to raise capital for their humungous initiative, The San Francisco Global Movie Fest. They have already raised around Rs. 50 lakh and are planning to raise over 6 Crore on Crowdera.
Crowdera intends to build a giving economy making crowd-funding free for everyone, monetizing the social capital to empower individuals and organizations driving social impact, social innovation and international cinema.
Founder Chet Jain says that he wants his platform to be a catalyst for global change in the giving industry, fostering an environment where fundraisers collaborate with teams, engage with corporations and influence the world to do good.
Says he, “Crowdera intends to build a giving economy where money would never constrain people and organizations from doing good. Crowdera and I are really happy to be associated with social visionary and philanthropist, Dr. Japra who has built FOG platform where communities collaborate for a common good."
Adds Dr Romesh Japra, Convenor, San Francisco Global Move Fest, "we are simply thrilled that people from all walks of life are realizing the true potential of this vision and we are delighted to associate with Crowdera."
Crowdera curates every entry and approves campaigns based on its alignment with social impact vision and social authenticity of campaign creators. The platform, initially focused on helping fundraisers in the United States, is geared for worldwide operations. It plans to go live in India by August 15 of this year. Along with Non-Profits and Social Innovators, Crowdera also wants to help independent filmmakers in India to raise money free and deliver impact driven films.
Chet Jain is a serial entrepreneur, angel investor and a film maker based near San Francisco, California, started Crowdera along with co-founders Rich Matsuura and Chai Atreya.
San Francisco Global Movie Festival is one of the most-awaited global film festivals and is scheduled from August 7-16.

Prashantt Guptha is face of Rohit Verma’s Royal India Collection

Actor Prashantt Guptha seems to be designer Rohit Verma’s muse, with the designer choosing the actor for representing his Royal India collection.
Rohit Verma had seen Prashant Guptha’s looks from his films Issaq, Identity Card and 6-5=2. “Upon meeting me, it struck him that I could be most apt to model for his upcoming Royal India collection.”
Prashant Guptha is currently the Brand Ambassador for the San Francisco Global Movie Festival and this assignment is another addition to his overcrowded cap.
Says Rohit Verma, “my current collection draws its inspiration from Royal India where you are a prince in all your splendour, yet have a western yet a regal Indian outfit. I went in for Prashantt Guptha, as besides having an interesting face, he was fresh and unexposed to fashion.
Says Prashantt Guptha, “I have been told to do ramp and fashion numerous times. Yet, I never felt I was adequate for it. Rohit Verma motivated me, gave me a regal look, and when I saw his collection I could simply not refuse… It moved me.”
But it was not as easy as it sounds. The designer wanted the look to be perfect and for that, Prashantt had to get lean.  “Rohit Verma needed me to have a certain lean yet regal look for the shoot. And that required me to lose about 10 kgs. Prashantt Guptha, enamoured by the designer range of Rohit Verma, did the needful and the result is here for you to see.
